/'kan.sərts kəˈmɪt.i/
1. A kick-ass programming committee within USG dedicated to to bringing students music all year round. We are completely run by students, divided into multiple subcommittees who all handle their respective tasks throughout the year.
Concerts Committee at USC began in 2010 when we brought out T-Pain as our first ever headliner! Other notable headliners throughout the years include Childish Gambino, Big Sean, Diplo, and 2-Chainz.
Ever see a concert happening on the Quad? Did you go to a concert your Freshmen year at USC? That might have been us! We produce concerts from start to finish! From booking the artists, to hiring production companies, to bringing different food vendors on campus, we work to create the best experience possible for students.
We produce the three biggest events; Welcome Back, Conquest! & Springfest
Our executive directors oversee the entire production process and lead E-Board. Most notably, they work with agencies to book the artists for our shows! They also handle all things budget and big picture items, working closely with each subcommittee and directing all E-Board operations
Creative works on the visual direction of each concert. They collaborate with the other teams to establish a theme, and design the graphics used for the social media, website & physical marketing.
"The best part of being on creative is that we have the freedom to take inspiration from so many different sources to contribute to the concert experience. Nothing is really off the table!"
Experience generates activation ideas for the audience to interact with before the show. They do everything from ideation to executing and building cool installations
"The best part of Experience is when we do big painting days and everyone from all committees help out. We just vibe and play music while we paint!"
Hospitality is responsible for ensuring that both performers and concert attendees are well taken care of on the day of show. . They book food trucks, fulfill artist riders, and stock green rooms.
"The best part is we're able to put work into booking a variety of food trucks that can cater to lots of diverse dietary preferences."
Marketing is everything creative and logistic. They handle social media, posting times and content!
"The best part is how engaging we get to be with the student body. We get to strategize funny stunts, student interviews, TikToks and more!
Media works on all our media. Promotional videos, concert photos, recap edits are all produced, captured, and edited by the media team. If you see someone holding a camera on stage, in the pit, or in the crowd, that's a media member.
"The best part of being on media is being able to see all these artists perform right in front of us as we photograph them!"
Production handles all physical aspects of our events. They work with third party companies to coordinate staging, audio, lighting and video. They also handle power, fencing, signage, water and all other things related to making our events function properly.
"The best part of being on production is learning about all the fine details that nobody typically thinks about when putting on an event."
Risk is responsible for keeping everyone safe. A main task is planning overall security compliance by organizing CSC coverage and helping manage guards day-of show. They work with production to ensure fencing/barricades/entrance design/signage is all compliant, as well as organizing the credentials.
"The best part of being on Risk is getting to ensure all the incredible work from everyone pieces together."
Special Events handles any of the events outside of our main 3 concerts. From Battle of the Bands, to the Student Stage, Special Events is everything in one
Partnerships works with outside organizations, whether that be large companies, non-profits, or RSOs. They spend several weeks thinking of and sourcing emails for companies/non-profits they believe with both enhance students experience & expand our reach beyond the USC community.
"The best part is in the ideation phase, where we think about what brands or other organizations may provide the most symbiotic partnership."
